Welcome to Anchor Bay School District!

     We are a district of approximately 5,500 students that includes 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, an alternative high school, and a wide variety of early childhood programs.

     We are proud of the high levels of achievement of our students. Our elementary, middle, and high school students continually perform above the county and state averages on the M-STEP, MME, and SAT assessments. In collaboration with our parents, we strive to provide high-quality education that meets the needs of all of our students.

PowerSchool Registration Emails are Delayed

Attention: Parents that are preregistering students for 2024-25 School Year!

Confirmation emails are NOT going out through our pre-registration system. Your information is being recorded, but the confirmation email and the follow-up email with information on how to enroll your student is currently delayed due to a system issue. Please only preregister your student once. We will process and send out the email once the system is fixed. Thank you for your patience!

Elementary Schools will offer extended office hours for registration:

  • Ashley - March 6th from 4:00-6:00
  • Great Oaks - March 19th from 4pm-5:30pm
  • Maconce - March 5th from 4-6pm
  • Lighthouse- March 6th from 4-6pm
  • Naldrett - March 6th from 4-5:30pm
  • Lottie - March 21st from 4-5:30pm

Steps:

Click the link above to fill out the pre-registration form for new K-12 resident students and new School of Choice applicants. (Select Kindergarten for the Young 5's program) Currently enrolled students do not need to fill this form out.

You will receive an email confirmation that your pre-registration was received. Please check your email before filling out the form multiple times for the same student. 

Please allow 7-10 business days for approval. We will be verifying the information you submitted on the form. 

Once approved, you will receive an email to create your parent portal account to access the online enrollment packet.

Enrollment forms for your new student will be found in your parent portal.

If you do not have a device to access this system, a time can be scheduled to come in an fill out the forms at one of our buildings. 

Preschool Families: GSRP students will NOT use this online registration form. Please call the Early Childhood Center at 586-716-7862 for the GSRP enrollment process.

Anchor Bay Offers Three Options for Kindergarten-Age Students

Kindergarten

  • A full-day program option
  • Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 of the school year in which they plan on attending Kindergarten.
  • Curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten.

Half-Day Kindergarten

  • A half-day program option
  • Curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten.
  • Students continue on to Kindergarten or 1st Grade the following year based on progress.

  • Young Fives is a full day program.
  • Designed for children turning 5 years old between June 1st and December 1st 
  • Gives children an extra year before attending Kindergarten
  • The Young Fives curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten modified to meet the foundational academic, social/emotional, and developmental needs for younger children.
  • Students will enter Kindergarten the following school year.
  • Location is determined by enrollment.

Existing Students - Move Out/In-District Transfer

Move Outs 

Did you move out of the district and want to remain at Anchor Bay through Schools of Choice? Log on to your parent portal account to access the Schools of Choice form. Go to "Forms", then "Enrollment", and fill out  "R-Out of district Schools of Choice Application."

In-District Transfers

Anchor Bay residents that are requesting a building other than their resident building can fill out the In-District Transfer form. 

Log on to your parent portal account to access the Schools of Choice form. Go to "Forms", then "Enrollment", and fill out  "S- In District Transfer."

If you do not have a parent portal account, contact your building's office to receive an access code.
