Anchor Bay will be accepting Schools of Choice applications for Unlimited K-11 for the 2025-26 School Year from February 13th - August 15th (3:30pm deadline).

2025-2026 Schools of Choice Information
2025-2026 Unlimited Schools of Choice
2025-2026 Schools of Choice is available for Kindergarten through 11th grade. Applications will be accepted for Schools of Choice from February 13, 2025 through August 15, 2025 at 3:30 p.m.
Placement at requested schools is dependent on class size and availability. The date for enrollment shall be no later than the end of the first week of school which is August 29, 2025.
The following documents are required to be submitted with your Schools of Choice Application:
- Statement of Prior Discipline Record
- Discipline report/print-out from former school for the previous two years
- Child’s current report card (high school students must also include current transcript)
- Child’s most current IEP if your child is presently receiving any special education programs or services
Please apply for Second Semester Schools of Choice by completing the Enrollment Express Pre-Registration Link:
- Select Enrollment School as the Resident School and answer the Schools of Choice questions.
- When the pre-registration form is approved, you will receive an email with instructions to create an online Parent Portal Account.
- From the Parent Portal, the following enrollment forms must be competed:
- Student Demographics
- Previous Enrollment and Records Release
- Discipline Record
- 2025-2026 Out of District Schools of Choice Application
- If your Schools of Choice Application is approved, you will receive an email indicating your child’s placement.
- You will need to log back into the Parent Portal to complete the remainder of the enrollment forms.
- Your child’s enrollment is complete when all forms are completed and you have submitted the required documents:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Record
- Parent Photo ID
- Two (2) proofs of residency

- Click the link above to fill out the pre-registration form for new K-12 resident students and new School of Choice applicants. (Select Kindergarten for the Young 5's program) Currently enrolled students do not need to fill this form out.
- You will receive an email confirmation that your pre-registration was received. Please check your email before filling out the form multiple times for the same student.
- Please allow 7-10 business days for approval. We will be verifying the information you submitted on the form.
- Once approved, you will receive an email to create your parent portal account to access the online enrollment packet.
- Enrollment forms for your new student will be found in your parent portal.

Preschool Families: GSRP students will NOT use this online registration form. Please call the Early Childhood Center at 586-716-7862 for the GSRP enrollment process.

Kindergarten/Young 5's Information
Anchor Bay Offers Options for Kindergarten-Age Students
Kindergarten
- A full-day program option
- Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 (or Dec. 1 if a Form C - Letter of Intent to Enroll in Kindergarten is completed in the online enrollment process) of the school year in which they plan on attending Kindergarten.
- Curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten.

- Young Fives is a full day program.
- Designed for children turning 5 years old between June 1st and December 1st
- Gives children an extra year before attending Kindergarten
- The Young Fives curriculum is based on the Michigan Standards for Kindergarten modified to meet the foundational academic, social/emotional, and developmental needs for younger children.
- Students will enter Kindergarten the following school year.
- Location is determined by enrollment.

Dental Screenings
Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, all children in Michigan enrolling into their first year of school are required to have an oral health assessment (dental screening); these assessments were previously optional.

Documents Required For Enrollment
Please have the following with you at the time of your registration. Items will be uploaded during online enrollment.
- Original Certified Birth Certificate
- Immunization Records
- Parent/Guardian Identification (Driver’s License)
- Proof of Residency: Two pieces of proof are required. Each piece must have parent/guardian name, address and must be current (current or previous month). Proof may be a purchase agreement, mortgage statement, property tax statement or utility bills.
- Student’s most recent report card or transcript
- Discipline record from prior school - Required for Schools of Choice students
- Current IEP (Special Education only) or 504 plan
- Kindergarten only: Vision, Dental, and Hearing Screening report
- Completed enrollment forms. Buildings will have copies available if you are unable to access them online.

Change of Address
If your address has changed, please alert the office staff in your building to ensure you receive any communications from the district. If your student is eligible for transportation at this address, their address needs to be updated in our system for routing purposes. You will need to provide two proofs of residency at your new address (purchase agreement, mortgage statement, property tax statement or utility bills.)
Move Outs
Did you move out of the district and want to remain at Anchor Bay Schools the following year? During the Schools of Choice Application window, you will need to log onto you Parent Portal Account to access the Schools of Choice form. Go to “Forms,” then “Enrollment, and fill out the “R-Out of District Schools of Choice Application.” (See Schools of Choice tab.)
In-District Transfers
In-District Transfers
Anchor Bay residents that are requesting a building other than their resident building can fill out the In-District Transfer form. This form is available during the Schools of Choice Application period. (See Schools of Choice tab.)
Log onto your Parent Portal Account to access the In-District Transfer form. Go to “Forms,” then “Enrollment,” and fill out “S-In District Transfer.” Forms will be approved based on class size and availability.
