ABHS will be dismissing early today, 12/8, due to building issue.

Dear Anchor Bay Parent & Guardians,

We would like to inform you of an unexpected event that occurred today, 12/8/23,  at Anchor Bay High School, leading to an early dismissal for the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

Earlier today, our fire alarm system experienced a technical malfunction, causing it to trigger a false alarm. As student safety is our top priority, we promptly initiated our emergency response procedures and evacuated the building according to our safety protocols.

Upon investigation, it was determined that there was no actual fire or danger to our students and staff. However, in order to address the issue and ensure the proper functioning of our fire alarm system, it became necessary to dismiss students early for the day. Busses will be arriving at the high school shortly and students will be dismissed at 9:45 am.

We understand that this may have caused some inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your daily schedule. The decision to dismiss students early was made with their safety in mind, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Please be assured that our maintenance team is actively working to resolve the issue with the fire alarm system, and additional measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.

We want to express our gratitude for your cooperation and understanding during these unexpected circumstances. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me at Central office at 586-725-2861.
