INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING (ENGINEERING I) (6043/44)
FULL YEAR – 1 CREDIT
(GRADES 9-12)
Are you a student who enjoys creation and innovation? In this class, students will engage in project-based learning to understand the base concepts of engineering! In this course, students will have exposure to robotics, 3D modeling, graphical analysis, 3D printing, building, breaking, and blowing things up! This course is a hands-on course that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and a willingness to create! Students will leave this course with a thorough understanding of engineering design process, basic tools of the trade, terminologies, and an unrelenting desire to continue creating! Completion of this course satisfies 1 credit for the Applied Arts requirement
ENGINEERING EXPLORATIONS (ENGINEERING II) (6053/54)
FULL YEAR– 1 CREDIT
(GRADES 10-12)
Are you looking to take engineering to the next level? Students will continue to expand upon ideas and project-based learning activities presented in Engineering I. In this course, students will dive into the finer details of career exploration and discover the concepts used by today’s industries. Students will have exposure to the latest technologies such as 3D printers, drones, and modeling equipment used by current engineers! Students will have vast projects expounding upon their interests and exploring prototyping, modeling, and full product creation utilizing techniques used across various professions of engineering! The class will utilize field trips to enlighten students to the various engineering career fields. Students will have the opportunity to leave class with industry certifications. Completion of this course satisfies 1 credit for the Applied Arts requirement and can fulfill fourth year math or third year science related credit
Prerequisites – Introduction to Engineering
ADVANCED ENGINEERING (ENGINEERING III) (6063/4)
FULL YEAR -1 HOUR - 1 CREDIT
GRADES 11-12)
Students will explore project based, and hands on learning to prepare them for real world engineering problems. In this course, applicative learning through in depth, student motivated studies will drive the desire to further pursue engineering. Students will continue building on foundational engineering insights and form an understanding of advanced engineering concepts. Students will gain out of the classroom experience by developing solutions to real world problems, as well as gaining experience through use of field trips to study what goes on day to day in engineering applications. Students will have the opportunity to leave class with industry certifications in multiple CAD programs, drone technologies, and 3D printing software systems. Completion of this course satisfies 1 credit for the Applied Arts requirement and can fulfill fourth year math or third year science related credit.
